Day six! If Ben Grimm is Marvel’s highest-profile Jewish superhero, Kitty Pryde has at least been carrying the banner longer. Introduced in 1980 as part of Chris Claremont’s and John Byrne’s groundbreaking multi-ethnic X-Men, Kitty may be the first long-running Jewish Marvel superhero to actually have been acknowledged as Jewish from the start. In the thirty-plus years since her debut, she’s also been a computer genius, SHIELD super-spy, ninja, and now is part of the faculty at the latest incarnation of the School for Gifted Youngsters.
